Between 1998 and 2003 HgCapital participated in several share placings of Alizyme plc, a drug development company focusing on the treatment of intestinal diseases and obesity.  During this time, Alizyme brought four compounds through the early stages of the clinical trials process, including its potential blockbuster, ATL-962, an anti-obesity drug. Following the announcement of this drug's succesful Phase IIb trial completion in October 2003, HgCapital realised its investment at an excellent return to clients.
